Life After Daily Photo Walking

September 03, 2013  •  1 Comment

Doing my daily photo walk blog was a wonderful experience, and today, my first day off, I hardly knew what to do with myself!  Cleaning house suddenly was not as attractive an option as it seemed a few days ago, when I did not have the time to get to it, so today I worked in the kitchen and decided to work on my new blog look, which is still in a pretty rough format.  I also have a lot to do to get my web site updated, since I neglected it for so long, and hopefully in the next few weeks I will have it much improved.

This new blog, "Life Through My Lens," is housed at Zenfolio, the same site as my website.  I thought it made more sense to keep everything together in one place.  I will include photos from my travels, my walks, and my experiences as I learn how to be a better photographer.  The great thing about photography as a hobby is that the learning process never ends.  Something new is always on the horizon, whether it is hardware, software, techniques, or trends.  As I explore it all, I will share what I am learning with you.

If you are in the Frederick area, please take some time to visit Artomatic, which opens at 6 p.m. tomorrow night, September 4.  Many, many artists have worked long hours to create wonderful displays of their work, including photography friends Shannon Beatty, Don Frame, Kai Hagen, Dan Scenna, and Scott Speck.  The big artists' reception is Friday night at 5 p.m.  You won't find me there, though, because I'll be in a hotel room in Lancaster County, typing a blog entry from my day in Amish country.  Artomatic runs from September 4 through October 5 and is located at 115 East Church Street in downtown Frederick.

I'll be back on Friday.  Have a great week!

So glaad you will continue posting Your photos and contents under Life Through My Lens. They are the highlight of my day. Today, I had a former student, Arron Armstrong, call me. We are friends on FB. He wanted to say that he was thinking about me and he hoped I was making good progress. In the course of our conversation, he told me that he had taken up photography as a hobby. Of course, I suggested he friend you on facebook and to follow your blog. I'm sure you'll remember him from Stephen Decatur. More later. Jan
