My Daily Photo Walk: Frederick Fairgrounds

18 - FFG 118 - FFG 1 18 - FFG 218 - FFG 2 Time really got away from me today, and all of a sudden, I realized I had to not only be somewhere, but that it was almost 4:30!  I had been at the computer all day, so I really needed a good walk.  On my way downtown, I stopped in at the Frederick Fairgrounds to do my walk.
 
There was a lot of activity going on there, at least inside the buildings and numerous tents erected on the grounds.  A huge Christmas show is opening on Friday, and vendors were already setting up.  In one tent, caterers were setting tables, putting out warming trays, and adding decorations to the walls.
 
As I walked the grounds, Christmas music was blaring from the speakers attached to poles around the entire complex.  In 60 degree weather threatening rain, it just felt out of place.  
 
18 - FFG 318 - FFG 3 18 - FFG 418 - FFG 4There's something about 14.... The Frederick Fairgrounds has a race track for harness racing, a grandstand for shows, various buildings for exhibits, barns for animals housed during the fair, and a stable area for horses.  None of the stables seemed to be occupied today.
 
As I looked into the various exhibit buildings, every one was filled with red pipe and drape, delineating booth areas for vendors.  I had no idea there was that much red drape in existence.  This upcoming show must be huge!  A few of the vendors were there already, setting up their displays.  
 
18 - FFG 518 - FFG 5 Here is information about the Christmas show.  It is a major event, and one that I will probably attend this Friday.  In the meantime, it was interesting to walk the fairgrounds with Christmas music in the air.
