My Daily Photo Walk: Harmony(Click any photo to enlarge; hover mouse over photo for caption.) 3 - Harmony 1Dolls in a window of the Harmony Mill. 3 - Harmony 2 The little village of Harmony is a pretty place any time of year, although not really one of my favorite places to walk. The road is narrow, with little to no shoulders, and combined with hills and curves, one has to be especially careful to be on the lookout for cars. But the village has a number of homes right up against the road, with farm fields and tree-covered hills for views behind the home. Little Catoctin Creek runs through it, too. 3 - Harmony 3 I parked at one of the churches and walked down into the village. There is nothing commercial in town, that I could tell, but there are two churches, and it's home to a cornet band, of all things. The cornet band's "headquarters" is in what appears to be a former church. 3 - Harmony 4 There's a stone home at the intersection, which bears a small sign that says "Harmony Mill." Its proximity to Catoctin Creek leads me to think it was once one of the many grist mills that operated in Frederick County. 3 - Harmony 5Bittersweet-covered utility pole. I got a good walk along country roads on a beautiful fall day. All photos in "My Daily Photo Walk" are available for sale upon request. Comments
