20 - Toulouse 420 - Toulouse 4 20 - Toulouse 720 - Toulouse 7 Today was our "off" day.  Norma and I slept late, and this morning we did laundry.  We knew that without a dryer, clothes would need a good day or more to dry.  We hung our clothes on the drying rack, the clothes rack, the chairs, and on anything we could find to hang our clothes outside in the stairwell of our apartment.

After a long session of Photoshop and digital painting lessons, we ventured out on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to wander a few more of the side streets in our neighborhood.  Luckily, we stumbled upon a three street yard sale in progress.

20 - Toulouse 320 - Toulouse 3 20 - Toulouse 120 - Toulouse 1 The atmosphere was like a festival.  Entire families were out strolling the street and eyeing the wares offered for sale.  Sidewalk cafes were open, and patrons were happily enjoying beer and coffee.  Kids were riding their scooters, babies were pushed in strollers, and numerous dogs were on leashes.  In two locations, musicians were playing loud music for the enjoyment of the crowd.  One group was doing old time rock and roll, and on another street there was a group playing jazz.

20 - Toulouse 220 - Toulouse 2 20 - Toulouse 620 - Toulouse 6 The offerings at the yard sale were about the same as those at American yard sales.  Lots of cheap clothes, old shoes, vinyl records, tons of books, ugly lamps, plastic toys, broken chandeliers, old purses, and kitchenware.  The only item I would have considered purchasing was a large copper pot with a handle, but there will be plenty of opportunity to purchase copper in Durfort, where we will be next week.  However, what we did purchase was a multi-layered napoleon and a genuine chocolate eclair at one of the patisseries that was open.  So far, we have not indulged in those delicacies.

20 - Toulouse 520 - Toulouse 5 These streets will be visited again, without the sea of humanity and trash that was quickly collecting from the festivities.  There were some cafes and shops we might want to check when the yard sales are gone.
