My Daily Photo Walk: Toulouse 7

22 - Toulouse 122 - Toulouse 1Garçon avec jambon! 22 - Toulouse 222 - Toulouse 2 Today our friend Terry, who is joining us for the course we'll be taking in Durfort, arrived from the States.  Of course, Norma and I had to play tour guides, and show Terry how much we had learned about Toulouse.
 
We began with the street market a few blocks away, where we shopped for our dinner.  We bought salami, a baguette, and tomatoes to supplement what we have left in the apartment.  We dropped off our purchases, and then went on a walking tour.
 
22 - Toulouse 322 - Toulouse 3 22 - Toulouse 622 - Toulouse 6 We visited the basilica and then ate lunch at a cafe across the street.  Norma and Terry got a salad with warmed goat cheese crostini, and I had a French hot ham and cheese sandwich known as a Croque Monsieur.  My dessert was a raspberry tart with a pistachio cream base -- heavenly!
 
 
 
22 - Toulouse 522 - Toulouse 5Toulouse is known for violets and foie gras. Next we went in and out of various shops, eyeing (and buying) notebooks and chocolates, all the while practicing a little street photography.  
 
22 - Toulouse 722 - Toulouse 7 We ended our tour by looking for the airport shuttle stop and buying a bottle of wine for the evening.  However, after all was said and done, we decided it would be best to ask our Airbnb host to call us a taxi for tomorrow, to take us to the airport to pick up our rental car.  Sharing the cost of one taxi beats hauling our luggage three blocks down the street and hoping we're at the right bus stop.  We'll have enough to worry about tomorrow what with driving on unfamiliar highways with speed limits of 80 mph, so we eliminated the worry about finding the right bus.
